Privacy policy Cashbook

This Privacy Policy explains how Marut App Zone ("we", "us", "the Service Provider") handles information in connection with the Simple Cash Book Management mobile application for Android ("the Application"), together with any related services we operate.

By using the Application, you agree to this Policy.

Summary

The Application is a record-keeping tool. The entries you create — your accounts, amounts, categories, notes and attachments — are stored on your own device, and we never receive a copy of them. We do collect a limited amount of technical and advertising information, described below.

1. Information you provide to the Application

You enter the Application's content yourself: account names, income and expense amounts, dates, categories, payment modes, names, remarks, notes, budgets, reminders, and any images you attach to an entry.

This data is written to a database on your device. It is not transmitted to us, and we have no ability to read it.

Two features move this data off your device, and both only at your instruction:

Backup. You may save a backup file to your device's storage, or upload one to your own Google Drive account (see section 5).

Export and share. You may generate an Excel, CSV, or PDF report and send it wherever you choose, using apps on your device.

In both cases the destination is one you pick. We are not a party to the transfer.

2. Information collected automatically

When you use the Application, the following may be collected:

your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address;

your device model, manufacturer, and Android version;

your device's general language and region settings;

which screens of the Application you open, and when;

how long you spend in the Application;

diagnostic information about crashes and errors, including stack traces and the state of the Application at the time of the crash.

3. Advertising and your advertising identifier

The Application is free and supported by advertising, served through Google AdMob. Advertising is also mediated and measured through Twinalyze, an analytics and ad-management service we use.

To measure advertising performance, the Application sends the following to our own server at appsfly.appdata.in each time an ad earns revenue:

your device's Google Advertising ID — a resettable identifier provided by Google Play services. Where an Advertising ID is not available, the Application uses your device's Android ID instead;

the Application's package name;

the estimated revenue amount, its currency, and a precision indicator;

the format of the ad shown and the name of the ad unit.

We use this only to understand how advertising in the Application performs. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not sell it.

Advertising networks may themselves collect identifiers and usage information in order to select and measure ads, including personalised ads where you have consented. Their handling of that data is governed by their own policies, linked in section 7.

You can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time in Android: Settings → Privacy → Ads. Deleting it stops the Application and advertising networks from using it to identify your device.

4. Contacts — only when you ask

When adding an entry, you may optionally tap the contact button to attach a person's name to it. If you do, Android asks for permission to read your contacts, and the Application reads only the display name of the single contact you select.

The Application does not read your contact list in the background, does not read phone numbers, email addresses or any other contact field, and never uploads your contacts to us or anyone else. The name is saved into your entry on your device like any text you typed.

You may decline the permission, or revoke it later in Settings → Apps → Simple Cash Book Management → Permissions, and keep using every other part of the Application.

5. Google Drive backup — optional

If you choose to back up to Google Drive, the Application asks you to sign in with Google and requests access to the application data folder of your Drive account.

This is a private area of your own Drive. The backup file is stored in your account, under your control. We do not have access to it. The Application cannot see, read, or modify any other file in your Drive — the permission it requests does not extend beyond its own folder.

You may disconnect at any time by revoking the Application's access in your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions, and you may delete the backup file from within the Application.

6. Other permissions and why they exist

Permission Why

Internet, network state load ads, check connectivity, upload a backup you requested

Notifications show the reminders you schedule

Storage save a backup or an exported report, and read one back when you restore

Accounts sign in with Google for Drive backup

Wake lock, run at startup deliver a scheduled reminder at the right time, and re-register reminders after a restart

The Application also uses Google Play's in-app update service to tell you when a newer version is available.

7. Third-party services

The Application uses the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy:

Google Play Services

Google AdMob

Google Analytics for Firebase

Firebase Crashlytics

Google Drive (only if you enable backup)

Twinalyze

We encourage you to read their policies. We are not responsible for their practices.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

The Application itself does not use browser cookies. The third-party SDKs it embeds may use identifiers, SDKs, and similar technologies to support functionality, analytics, and ad delivery. Where consent is required by law, those technologies are used on the basis of the consent you give.

9. When we disclose information

We may disclose the information described above:

as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process;

where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;

to trusted service providers acting on our behalf, who have no independent right to use the information and who have agreed to obligations consistent with this Policy.

We do not sell personal information.

10. International data transfers

We and our service providers may transfer data to countries outside your country of residence, including outside the European Economic Area. Where required, we rely on:

Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission;

adequacy decisions; or

another legally recognised transfer mechanism, or your consent where permitted.

Data protection laws elsewhere may differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required by law, we apply appropriate safeguards.

11. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export personal data we hold, to object to or restrict processing, and to withdraw consent.

Because the records you create never reach us, the fastest route for most of these is in your own hands: your entries are deleted when you delete them in the Application or uninstall it, and your Advertising ID is reset or deleted in Android settings.

For anything we do hold, contact us at the address in section 17. We respond within the period applicable law requires.

12. California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it, the right to correct it, the right to opt out of its sale or sharing, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising except through the advertising services named in section 7, subject to the consent and opt-out controls described there and in your device settings. To exercise a right, contact us at the address in section 17.

13. Opting out

Stop all collection: uninstall the Application.

Advertising identifier: reset or delete it in Settings → Privacy → Ads.

Personalised ads: opt out in the same Android settings screen.

Contacts: decline or revoke the permission in Android app settings.

Google Drive: revoke access at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

14. Data retention

Data you entered in the Application: held on your device until you delete it or uninstall. We hold no copy.

Automatically collected technical and advertising data: retained for up to 24 months from collection, unless longer retention is required for legal compliance.

Aggregated and anonymised data: retained indefinitely, as it no longer identifies you.

Data required for legal compliance: retained as long as applicable law requires.

Previous versions of this Policy are kept and are available on request.

15. Children

The Application is not directed to children under 16, or such higher age as applicable law requires, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Where parental or guardian consent is required by law, the Application is not intended for use without it. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

16. Security, and notification of a breach

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards appropriate to the limited information we handle. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If a breach affecting your personal data occurs, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as applicable law requires, including within any mandated deadline.

18. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy. We will post the updated version at this address and change the effective date above, and will post material changes before they take effect where law requires. Continuing to use the Application after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Policy.
