Privacy Policy – Calculator Vault
Effective date: September 28, 2026
This privacy policy applies to the Calculator Vault app for Android mobile devices (the "Application"), published by Marut App Zone (the "Service Provider"). It explains what information the Application uses, why, and the choices you have. By using the Application, you agree to this policy.
1. Summary
- Your hidden photos, videos, files, notes and intruder photos are encrypted and stored only on your device. The Service Provider never uploads, collects, views or shares them.
- Your password and security answer are stored only in a protected (hashed) form on your device.
- The Application shows ads (Google AdMob and its partners) and uses Google Analytics for Firebase for anonymous usage statistics. These services may collect limited device information, as described below.
2. Information Stored Only on Your Device
The following stays on your device. It is never sent to the Service Provider or any third party:
- Hidden files: photos, videos, audio, documents and other files you add to the vault. They are encrypted with AES-256, and the encryption key is protected by the Android Keystore.
- Private notes you write in the Application, stored encrypted.
- Intruder photos (see section 4), stored encrypted.
- Your vault password and security question answer, stored only as salted, hashed values that cannot be read back.
- Your settings, such as language and feature choices.
Hidden data is not included in device backups. Uninstalling the Application permanently deletes all hidden files, notes and intruder photos, and they cannot be recovered. Please unhide anything you want to keep before uninstalling.
3. Photo, Video and Storage Permissions
- Photos and videos (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, or storage access on older Android versions): used only so you can choose the items you want to hide, and to restore them to your gallery when you unhide them.
- All files access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, Android 11 and newer): optional, and requested only once, when you first hide a file. It is used only to remove the original copy of a file from your gallery after you hide it, so the file is no longer visible outside the vault. The Application does not scan, read, collect or upload any other files on your device. If you do not allow it, Android asks you to confirm each removal instead. You can turn this permission off at any time in your device settings.
4. Camera (Intruder Selfie)
The Application uses the front camera only for the optional "Intruder selfie" feature, which is off until you turn it on. When it is on, the Application takes a photo after a wrong password is entered on the calculator. Intruder photos are encrypted, stored only on your device, and never uploaded or shared. You can view and delete them in the Application's settings. The camera is not used for any other purpose. If camera access is blocked on your device, no photo is taken.
5. Private Web Browser
The built-in private browser does not keep your browsing history, cookies, cache or site data; they are deleted when you close it. The Service Provider does not collect the websites you visit. Websites you open have their own privacy policies.
6. Information Collected Automatically (Ads and Analytics)
The Application is free and supported by ads. It uses the following third-party services, which may automatically collect information such as your device's advertising ID, IP address, device model, operating system version, language, approximate location derived from your IP address, and how you interact with the Application and with ads:
- Google AdMob: shows ads. It may work with mediation partners such as Meta Audience Network (Facebook) and AppLovin to fill ads.
- Google Analytics for Firebase: anonymous usage statistics (for example, which screens are opened and how ads perform) that help improve the Application.
- Google Play Services.
The Application also downloads its ad settings from the Service Provider's server when it starts. This request sends only the Application's package name. No personal information is sent.
None of these services receive your hidden files, notes, intruder photos, password or browsing activity.

- AdMob: https://support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543
- Google Analytics for Firebase: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy
- Meta (Facebook): https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/
- AppLovin: https://www.applovin.com/privacy/
7. Ad Consent and Your Choices
- If you are in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, the Application asks for your consent (through Google's consent tool) before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice at any time in the Application's Settings → Privacy options.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID, or opt out of personalized ads, in your device settings (Settings → Google → Ads, or Settings → Privacy → Ads, depending on your device).
- You can stop all collection by uninstalling the Application.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
The Application itself does not use cookies. The third-party ad and analytics services listed above may use SDKs, identifiers and similar technologies as described in their own policies. Where required by law, consent is obtained first.
9. How Information Is Shared
The Service Provider does not sell your personal information. Information collected automatically by the services in section 6 is processed by those providers under their own policies. The Service Provider may also disclose information if required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process, or when necessary to protect rights, safety or to investigate fraud.
10. International Data Transfers
The third-party services listed above may process data in countries other than your own, including outside the European Economic Area. Where required by law, they use appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Data Retention
- Data on your device (hidden files, notes, intruder photos, password data and settings) is kept until you delete it or uninstall the Application.
- Data collected by third-party services is retained according to their own policies. For example, Google Analytics for Firebase keeps data for a limited period that the Service Provider sets.
- The Service Provider does not keep a copy of your personal data on its own servers.
12. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU/UK, or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, to object to or restrict processing, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for advertising. You will not be discriminated against for using these rights. Because your vault content never leaves your device, you control it fully within the Application. For data held by the ad and analytics providers, use the choices in section 7 or contact the Service Provider at the email below.
13. Security
Your vault is protected by AES-256 encryption with a key secured by the Android Keystore, screenshots are blocked inside the vault, and the vault locks when you leave the Application. No method of storage is 100% secure, but the Service Provider takes reasonable steps to protect your information. Keep your password private and set a security question so you can recover access.
14. Children
The Application is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or under 16, or a higher age where required by local law). The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact the Service Provider and it will be deleted.
15. Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Application after changes means you accept the updated policy.
